A combination of framing styles were carefully considered and employed to match the work. ‘Notes’ (2016) – a set of delicate paintings created on carbon paper were mounted in such a way that they hang from the top of an ash wood box frame, a method of mounting which allows an artwork to hold it’s shape.
Elsewhere in the gallery a monitor displays a new film by Bradley entitled ‘Brigitte’ based on an artwork, and previous Darbyshire collaboration. The design for the sculpture was influenced by and resembles an old espaliered fruit tree, it is fascinating to witness the effect of the sun on the vibrant green and red plexi elements of this sculpture.
