Framed by Darbyshire, ‘Antony Gormley – Cast’ is a new exhibition of works on paper currently on show at Alan Cristea Gallery, we worked with the artist to arrive at a beautiful framing specification to suit these large artworks. The frames are constructed from aluminium with an oak cladding, to allow for a strong but thin and lightweight frame profile, this was an important consideration given that these artworks are close to 3 metres tall. The frames were then treated with bleach before being hand varnished to give a dead flat finish. The frame corners have butt-jointed sides and a mitred front face.
