Jonathan Yeo – Portraits

In advance of a massive Jonathan Yeo retrospective at The Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark, Darbyshire have worked with the artist to create a series of unique frames, each with a subtly different specification.

The frames were constructed mainly from stained American black Walnut, and oak, with a range of metals used in the construction to complement the overall aesthetic, including patinated brass slips and antique painted steel.

On 20 March 2016, The Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark opens the largest ever exhibition of work by British portrait artist Jonathan Yeo, entitled “Jonathan Yeo Portraits”. The show, which is the first retrospective by a British artist at the museum, includes never before seen paintings of Cara Delevingne, as well as noted works from throughout his career spanning 25 years.

The British artist Jonathan Yeo is known for his many portraits of famous politicians, artists, and actors. At the exhibition his famous portraits of the Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, actor Kevin Spacey in the role of Richard III and many others will be on display.The exhibition is an encounter with a world class portraitist – an artist who has learned from the classics, but has found his own ways and has contributed to revitalize the portrait genre and the figurative art in the 21st century.

The exhibition is open from March 20 until June 30.
